Our Beginnings
My Jerky Shop started in Greenville, SC in March 2006 as an Internet business. I (Jimmy) quickly realized I was selling more by sampling to others than on-line, and started ordering by the case. In October of 2006 I headed west to Colorado Springs, CO. The beginnings were quite humble but the same scenario - selling by sampling was taking off.
I started selling out of my home and car, soon to an office on LaSalle Street and as of February 2011 we have a Shop at the Springs Center Building on E Platte Ave. It's been an exciting & interesting journey.
In 2006 I started out selling only JD (Jerky Direct) jerky with 26 flavors. I grew with the company and as of November 2010 JD now offers 36 flavors in all. In the autumn of 2010 I added several new products from a sister company to JD, Golden Valley Naturals.
March 2011 brought often requested types of jerky - elk & venison. We now carry Climax Jerky - Elk, Venison, Salmon, and additional
flavors of beef and buffalo. This brought our total flavor/style count to 67!!
We also added a complete line of Jerky and treats for all your 4-footed, furry friends.
During the summer of 2011 we continued to add additional flavors and styles and we now stock over 101 Styles and Flavors of jerky and meat snacks. We offer samples at shows, events and of course at our shop.
We will try to have as much Colorado jerky as possible. Some of our jerky comes from local providers in Silvercliffe, Morrison and Dillon. We always look for the best quality, all natural jerkies we can find. All of our meats and products come from the USA. Any non US product is clearly marked in the description.
